What exactly does the municipality of The Hague do?

As the municipality of The Hague, we are committed to the well-being of all our residents. We develop policies that focus on urban development, housing and the maintenance of public spaces so that our city remains a pleasant place to live. We support vulnerable groups and work closely with schools to provide good education and childcare. Safety is a top priority for us; that's why we work with the police and fire departments to create a safe environment. In addition, we stimulate cultural events, the local economy and sustainable initiatives.

In short, our goal is to make The Hague a safe, livable and sustainable city for everyone!

Why did you choose Pluvo?

Our choice for Pluvo was simple: we needed a tool that could meet our needs for flexible and user-friendly learning experiences. Pluvo enables us to better structure learning activities, which is crucial for our organization.

Thanks to Pluvo, we were able to develop a more flexible onboarding program with mini schedules and a mix of classroom learning, e-learning and work visits. This has increased the engagement of our new employees and reduced dropouts.

In addition, with Pluvo, we can easily modify the content and integrate it with other systems, which is a perfect fit for our approach.

How is Pluvo deployed for you?

With Pluvo, we have developed a structured program for onboarding new employees. In the past, they had to navigate through an unclear Excel document with an endless schedule for their onboarding program, which was often confusing. We now offer an intensive and challenging onboarding process during the first four weeks, followed by a “breeding pond” period where employees can learn and practice independently.

This approach offers more variety with home assignments and work visits, and allows our trainers to act more as coaches.

Using Pluvo has significantly improved our learning experience and reduced the number of dropouts during the onboarding process.

How is building in Pluvo experienced?

With Pluvo, we have developed e-learning modules that are specifically tailored to the needs of our employees.

We have also developed specific information and practice modules on various topics that our customer contact employee faces, which further enriches our learning journey. By combining the Pluvo authoring tool and external links, we offer an integrated learning experience that is both informative and practical.

This contributes to effective training and prepares our employees well for their role within the municipality.

Do you use other tools to enrich the e-learning?

We enrich the e-learning experience by using a variety of materials. For example, beautiful photos and illustrations that explain information, or recorded audio cases to simulate the work. This makes tough and boring understandable and interesting!

Do you have any tips for other organizations that want to get started with e-learning?

For organizations that want to start e-learning, we recommend setting clear goals first. The chosen tool should support learning needs, not vice versa. Make optimal use of the tool's capabilities, such as interactive assignments and media. Variety in learning methods, such as audio, video and animations, keeps the lessons attractive.

Finally, it is essential to analyse learning outcomes so that bottlenecks can be identified and targeted improvements can be made.
