You have developed a fantastic e-course and the first students have joined (yes!). Can you sit back now? No, not exactly.

Developing e-learning takes a lot of time and energy, but now that your e-learning is up and running, this is the perfect opportunity to make your e-course and user experience even better.

Not only for your current students, but also for your future customers (because you can also use the feedback you receive as marketing input very well).

In this blog, we'll discuss what we recommend looking out for after you launch your e-course and how you can use the feedback you receive to further optimise your e-course.

1. Stay in touch with your students

To maintain engagement with your e-course and to ensure that your students actually complete your e-learning it's important to stay in touch with them. For example, you can have a live Q&A every week, two weeks, or month, start a Facebook group, maintain a community (e.g. within the Learning Management System), or organise something else fun like a competition or a giveaway.

This way, your students feel that you really care about them and that you want them to grow by participating in your training.

Of course, they will also tell others this, word of mouth is worth a lot! By staying in touch with your students, you know what's going on, you can respond to current events and you can always keep your course up to date.

In addition, you can also use the input from these sessions/community posts for your marketing; after all, you will learn exactly what's going on among your target group.

2. Ask for feedback

Ask your students for feedback during and after the training. In between, they may already give you some ideas for some areas for improvement or run into something.

The customer is king, so of course you want to make sure that this is solved immediately for the student or that their question is answered.

You can do this by providing a forum during the training where students can ask questions.

For example, asking questions in a chat (such as Pluvo), in a Facebook group, in the community, or directly to you via a message, email, or DM (although you should of course be careful as your group of students grows, you may be able to outsource answering questions to a moderator).

This is how you improve the user experience, give your students the feeling that they are seen and heard, and that they are important to you.

In addition, once your student has completed the training, you can post a survey in the online learning environment so that your student can provide feedback on your course at the end. Also, ask right away if you can possibly include the feedback for your marketing purposes.

After all, if they are super positive, you can use this feedback nicely for reviews and social proof!

If they have areas for improvement, be sure to include them, you can only learn from this and this offers you the opportunity to further optimise your training!

In a survey, you can ask (both open and closed) questions about, for example:

  1. How interactive is the training?
  2. Were there sufficient opportunities to receive feedback?
  3. How did you find the community associated with the training?
  4. How accessible did you find the training?
  5. Did you find the training user-friendly?
  6. Was the division between video, text, and images sufficient?
  7. Did the training meet your expectations?
  8. What did you think of the way the knowledge was tested in this training?
  9. What did you think of the structure of the training?
  10. What did you think of the content?

3. Check the statistics

Most Learning Management Systems allow you to keep track of various statistics. For example, the number of students, the speed at which students complete the training, the time of day when most students log in, at what times (at which module/lesson) students drop out, how they score on assessments, etc.

These statistics are very valuable to review regularly. This is because this allows you to see if you are on the right track and how interesting your students find your training.

For example, do students always drop out of the same module? Then you still have work to do there.

So, as you can read above, once you've created and launched your e-course, your work isn't over yet. If you really want to offer a good training, keep it up to date and really want to be there for your students, it's important to ask for feedback to actually do something with it!

Pluvo gives you insight into statistics and you can easily get feedback so that you can constantly improve your e-learning. Create a free account to test it out!
