Having an online training course created: here is what is possible!

Have the idea, but no time to develop it? Pluvo's service and design team can take tasks off your hands.

Looking to have an online training course created?

There you are. So many plans, but so little time. You can already picture it: your own online academy, filled with valuable online training courses. It would be the perfect way to share your knowledge with the wider world.

But if you are someone who is always full of ideas without actually working them out, that online academy is never going to happen. At times like that, it can be useful to outsource certain tasks.

Fortunately, the service & design team at Pluvo is ready to take the load off your shoulders, so you can focus on the things that give you more energy. Working on your business, for example. You can receive varying degrees of support in setting up your own online academy. From creating e-learning modules and designing your academy to educational consulting. Or perhaps you prefer to keep the reins in your own hands as much as possible and only benefit from didactic educational advice….

In this blog, we discuss how you can decide for yourself whether to outsource e-learning (components) or do it yourself. We also give you an insight into the possibilities at Pluvo.

Have e-learning developed or create it yourself?

Before you outsource your entire online academy, it is wise to pause and ask yourself a few questions. We will formulate a number of them below.

First of all, you need to think about the question: what are you good at, and what are you not so good at? When you create an e-learning course, you often have to deal with a number of aspects: content, visual, didactic, and technical. We will therefore go through these one by one.

  1. Content. This brings us immediately to the only task you CANNOT outsource: the content. Your knowledge and expertise. So make sure that is ready. Linguistically, things can certainly be polished, but in terms of content, everything must be written down and understandable for outsiders. It often doesn't matter in what form you provide the content. Most e-learning experts can work perfectly well with a Word file, a PowerPoint presentation, or even an audiovisual lecture. A document with just bullet points is a bit too brief, however.
When it comes to content, you are the expert!
  1. Visual. People are visual creatures, after all. Our motivation to learn is therefore strongly linked to the way your online academy looks. And consequently, to the learning outcomes of your course. Especially if you have your own corporate identity, it is very important that your learning environment feels like home. So ask yourself whether you (or one of your employees/colleagues) are the right person to take this on. At Pluvo, you can outsource the design of your academy and your e-learning courses to our experienced designers, who have already turned many an academy into an attractive and inspiring place.

  1. Didactic. The success of your e-learning depends on the way you present the content of your training. An interactive training course, where your students actively participate and are engaged, performs much better than a passive training course with long-winded blocks of text and video. But creating a didactically strong e-learning course is not that simple. You have to come up with creative questions and assignments, maintain a good structure in your training, and address your students with the right tone of voice. And that is by no means everything. The question is whether you want to and can do this yourself.
At Pluvo, you can choose to outsource the development of your online training. You provide the knowledge, and we take care of all the didactic and technical tasks! If you prefer to keep the reins in your own hands a bit more, you can also opt for an e-learning review. Our e-learning experts will then not only optimize the e-learning you have created from a technical and didactic point of view, but also in terms of design. You can also request an educational advice report, for example, if you have specific questions about the didactic side of online learning.
  1. Technical. Depending on the learning platform you choose, you may face major technical challenges. Although Pluvo is very user-friendly and we work hard to make the platform as simple as possible, the technology can still feel like a stumbling block for some. This can cause you to miss out on great opportunities. For example, because you are not using certain functionalities optimally. Or because you lose a huge amount of time figuring out the possibilities. So ask yourself: Are you someone who prefers to figure this out yourself, or do you appreciate being helped along the way?
Fortunately, at Pluvo, we offer various options to assist you on a technical level. For example, take a look at our various workshops.

Creating an e-learning course efficiently

Furthermore, it is good to think about efficiency. E-learning experts often work quickly and efficiently and can ensure that your online academy is ready for launch much sooner than if you were to tinker with it yourself. After all, it is the core business of our e-learning experts! Moreover, you save costs if your training is launched sooner. After all, you can start generating income from your training earlier!

Have fun!

  2. Denk na over de kostenefficiëntie. Levert het meer op als je het zelf doet, of als je het laat doen?
  3. Ga na welke taken jij leuk vindt om zelf op te pakken. Have fun!
