As we described in previous blogs, e-learning is a great solution for keeping knowledge and skills within companies up to date. Of course, it is very important to make employees within the organisation enthusiastic about following the e-learning.

But, it doesn't stop there.

In this blog, we provide tips on how to make both internal employees and external parties enthusiastic about the e-learning, and how to sell the e-learning on a larger scale (and thus recoup the costs of developing it in no time!).

How do I make employees enthusiastic about taking an e-learning course?

1. Clearly show employees the benefits of e-learning

For example, if the training is about new production techniques, tell employees how this makes their work more efficient or even increases their chances of promotion! Make it clear to them how the knowledge and skills they acquire in the e-learning makes their daily tasks easier and faster.

Adding statistics works very well here!

2. Make the learning experience interactive and engaging

Use interactive elements such as videos, quizzes, and simulations to make learning more engaging. People learn better when they are actively involved in the process. For production companies, for example, you can offer simulations in which employees can operate new machines or solve faults in a virtual environment.

This not only makes learning more fun, but also more practical and directly applicable.

3. Offer flexibility and rewards

Give employees the opportunity to learn at their own pace and time. This is particularly useful when working shifts. This way, they do not have to quit the work and it therefore costs the organisation less money. You can also award rewards such as certificates or badges to employees who successfully complete modules, such as digital badges that they can share on their LinkedIn profile or a small gift for the first employees to complete a course.

This gives an extra motivation boost!

How do external companies discover our e-learning?

Once you know that the e-learning is leading to great results within your company, it's time to let other companies know what an opportunity it is for them to participate in your e-learning too! You can do this in various ways:

1. Content marketing

By creating valuable and interesting content, optimising it for search engines, and distributing it via various channels such as social media and collaborations with influencers or bloggers, you significantly increase your reach. It starts with doing keyword research and understanding what appeals to your target audience.

For example, publishing blog articles, e-books, or even podcasts to engage and inspire your audience.

2. Social media

By sharing about your e-learning in a creative way on social media, you can really bring the “e-learning experience” to life for your followers.

This includes sharing enthusiastic reviews from participants, examples of VR/AR simulations, a tour of the e-learning environment, etc.

How do I sell my e-learning to other companies or organisations?

Now that companies and organisations know about your e-learning, you naturally want them to invest in it too! But how do you do this? We'll give you 3 tips:

1. Show added value with results

Companies want to see what they can get out of your e-learning. Use results from previous projects to show how effective your e-learning is. For example, “Our e-learning increased productivity by 20% within six months at [company X].”

These kinds of concrete figures help convince potential customers that your e-learning really works!

2. Provide a scalable and flexible solution

Companies often have diverse needs, so make sure your e-learning program is easy to adapt to different sectors or company sizes. Present examples of other companies that have successfully implemented your program, for example, “Our program works just as well for small teams as it does for large multinationals, as we've shown before at [company Y].”

Show that the e-learning is easy to integrate with their current systems such as an LMS (Learning Management System).

3. Start with a free trial or demo

A free trial or demo can lower the threshold for companies to try out your e-learning. This gives them the opportunity to see the program in action without making a major investment right away. For example, let them complete the first module for free, or give a demo showing exactly how your program responds to their specific challenges and needs.

This can be just the push you need to convince them of the value of your e-learning.
